Call for interns   The Albanian Helsinki Committee is accepting applications for interns for the period September-December 2003 and February-May 2004.   Applicants Profile: A hardworking and a dedicated person interested in the field of human rights;  graduated in law/sociology/political sciences/economics and other excellent/very good grades; knowledge of international law is preferred; additional professional achievements and working experience would be an asset;  fluent in English and other language knowledge’s would be an asset; high computer skills are required.   The internship: The internship will take place at Albanian Helsinki Committee’s office in Tirana.  The applicant will: assist in activities that will be carried out in the framework of ongoing AHC’s projects; assist Office and Projects’ Assistants; contribute in following closely human rights violation cases (whenever they occur) assisting the Legal Adviser; contribute to publications under the supervision of the person responsible for publications; take part in other activities of the AHC.    For the intern working during the first period September-December will be possible to assist in the Project “Public Education and Monitoring of Local Elections 2003 in Albania” for the Local Elections in the country due to take place on October 12, 2003. AHC will monitor certain aspects of the electoral campaign and the voting process.   Interns will experience a human rights organisation and will have the opportunity to develop their skills within the NGO sector.   Internship financial details: The internship is unpaid. The applicant must cover by herself/himself travel and accommodation expenses. The AHC will provide the applicant with the necessary working place/means in its office and will assist her/his travel and accommodation arrangements.   Applications: Documents necessary for applying for an internship at the AHC are: a cover letter with motivation explanations for this application; curriculum vitae; certifying document of university grades  two letters of references with contacting details of the reference persons.     All applying papers should be sent at: office@ahc.org.al     Deadline for applications:   For the internship period Sepetember-December 2003 the deadline for submission of applications is September 20, 2003.   Shortlisted applicants will be notified by September 15, 2003.     For the internship period February-May 2004 the deadline for submission of applications is January 20, 2004.
