Albanian Helsinki Committe are trained in the
penitentiary area[1]

On 2 November 2007, Albanian
Helsinki Committee (AHC) trained monitors who
will be involved in the monitoring of the
pre-trial detention facilities and prisons in
the territory of the Republic of Albania. The
monitoring will focus on the treatment of
juveniles and women in the penitentiary
institutions.
In this training AHC
monitors were equipped with knowledge on the
legal framework in the penitentiary area,
monitoring methodology, reporting structure, the
latest development related to the situation in
pretrial detention facilities and prisons,
concerns and issues raised in the latest report
of the Committee for Prevention of Torture (CPT)
and its respective recommendations.
