Convenes Egyptian Organizations

With a view to building
capacities of Egyptian community organizations
to lobby for the rights of this community, on
September 25, 2007, the Albanian Helsinki
Committee organized a meeting with
representatives of Egyptian community
organizations. During the meeting, participants
received help with the steps they need to follow
in order to identify primary problems of the
community they represent and raise them with the
authorities, how to work together to protect and
demand respect for their rights. During the
meeting, they managed to identify three main
problems, actors and collaborators that may work
with these organizations to draft strategies for
addressing them.
AHC, in
cooperation with Egyptian organizations and
community representatives, will undertake a
series of steps necessary for addressing
identified issues with competent state
authorities and local and international
organizations.
