AHC trains a few journalists regarding the European Court of Human Rights

On 24 December 2008 AHC organized a training targeting some of representatives of written and electronic media concerning the implementation of the European Convention of Human Rights and the European Court of Human Rights at national level. The main objective of this training was to raise professional capacities of the representatives of written and electronic media on the topic: the role of judicial system in accordance with European Convention of Human Rights and the activity of European Court of Human Rights.

 

During the training, the participants discussed about the practical cases of European Court of Human Rights, the role of Government Agent of Albania close to international organizations, Albanian cases in European Court of Human Rights. In the training was highlighted the importance of the role of journalists and the representatives of the media on the information of public, their legal education and the utilization of the instrument of human rights protection.

 

The training experts were: Mrs. Suela Mëneri, Government Agent, The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Mrs. Etilda Saliu, Coordinator of Legal Clinic.

 

Trainees appreciated the training, not because was the first in his gender, but because it provides to them theoretical and practical knowlendges regarding the correct and the good information of the public.

 

The activity was held in the framework of the project “For a better respectation of victims’s rights”  financially supported by Swedish Helsinki Committee.
