Albanian
Helsinki Committee (AHC) monitors the respecting of
human rights and freedoms and reacts for their
reinstallation; sensitize citizens for protecting of
their rights and freedoms; helps in the improvement of
legislation and the practice for implementation of law
through legal critic and recommendations along compiling
and later practicing the law. The mission of AHC
includes the respecting of the rights of the Albanian
emigrants wherever they are.
AHC in
collaboration with The Helsinki Greek Monitoring Group,
even before have monitored and verified the violations
of rights of Albanian emigrants, and especially in the
borderline Albania-Greece.
Beginning
from June 2006, AHC has started the implementation of a
one year project for monitoring of respecting of
Albanian emigrants rights and readmitted persons,
according to readmission agreements.
The target
group of this project will be the returned Albanian
citizens, respecting of their rights, evidence from the
cases of violations of their rights from the Albanian
State border authorities and the ones from the
neighboring countries, or from other state structures in
Albania and abroad.
Some of the
main objectives of the project are:

Protection of the Albanian emigrants rights and
readmitted persons in the readmission agreement
framework;

Monitoring of the rights of the Albanian emigrants
from the Albanian state authorities, particularly
the border authorities;

Collaboration with the Albanian media regarding the
informing matters, treatment of cases of emigration
and respecting of the Albanian citizens rights;
-
Contribution in emigrants rights monitoring in
Albania and abroad, and their treatment in
accordance with the international standards.
The project
estimated 46990 euro is made possible from the financial
support of the Norwegian Helsinki Committee and will be
implemented in close collaboration with the main actors
in this field and the homologue organizations in other
countries, especially with The Helsinki Greek Monitoring
Group and the organizations of emigrants abroad. |
