21.09.2007

On Sunday, September 23, 2007, a parliamentary by-election will be held in constituency 31 of Tirana. Until yesterday, the training of VCC (Voting Center Commission) members remained problematic. This resulted not only from the delayed setup of VCCs, but also from failure of members to present themselves on the day of the training. The CEC rightfully drew attention to this fact. The Albanian Helsinki Committee also expresses its concern for the failure to establish, in time, the vote-counting groups.
