Monitoring missions and verifications
c
On 22
February 2005, the Fier correspondent met with the family members of
juvenile E.G., 14 years old, who claimed that he had been maltreated by police
in the Kakavijė border crossing. His father complained that his son had been
subjected to violence, at the Kakavijė border crossing, by civilians who had
detained him to the Gjirokastėr police station. According to the father of the
boy, Z.G., border police used violence on his son due to old grudges with the
father as the same situation had occurred involving the father one year before.
The correspondent had met with the juvenile himself and the latter had a light
bruise on his cheek and had no signs of violence or wounds.

Based on some signals,
AHC conducted verification missions on cases of maltreatment of Albanian
emigrants by Greek police. The Vlorė correspondent contacted citizen C.A. who
was maltreated by Greek police. Regarding this case, the Korēė correspondent
contacted senior officials of the Bilisht police station, as well as senior
officials of the Korēė Prosecutors Office.
