Health Care Service and Respecting Human Rights

On 22 December 2008, AHC organized a training
session to improve the professional capacity of
its correspondents, staff, and activists who
will be involves on monitoring the Health Care
Service, aming to promote a better respecting of
human rights in the Health Care Service.

rights at the regional hospital of Gjirokastėr

In the
context of its mission for the protection and
observance of human rights, Albanian Helsinki
Committee (AHC) monitored the observance of
citizen rights at some of the primary health
care institutions, psychiatric hospitals,
orphanages and regional hospitals. One of the
health facilities that were monitored was the
regional hospital of Gjirokastėr.
For citizen-friendly health and social services

In the context of its mission to protect and
respect human rights, AHC began the monitoring
of respect for citizens rights at some health
institutions of primary care, psychiatric
hospitals, orphanages, and some regional
hospitals. During January and February, 2009,
AHC monitored the primary health care services
in the areas of Bathore and Babrru, health
services at the regional hospital of
Gjirokastėr, psychiatric hospitals and community
centers in the districts of Vlorė, Elbasan,
Shkodėr, and Tiranė.

In the context of its mission for
the protection and observance of human rights,
Albanian Helsinki Committee (AHC) has initiated
the monitoring for the observance of citizen
rights in some primary health care institutions,
psychiatric hospitals, orphanages and some
regional hospitals. Throughout January 2008, AHC
monitored health care in the area of Bathore and
Babrru.
Monitoring report on the national legal
framework in the field of health care services

AHC
carried out a legal research regarding health
care services offered to patients suffering from
mental and chronic illnesses, treatment of
orphan children as well as primary health care.
Research findings show progress made in this
field, main problems identified, and few
recommendations about legal amendments related
to health services.
