In
the context of its activity in the area of
minority rights, AHC began the implementation of
a project at the Korçë Municipality. The project
is called “Monitoring the Exercise of Minority
Rights in the Korçë Municipality." The goal of
the project is to assess respect for minority
rights in this city and highlight opportunities
for their development. By means of the project,
we also seek to boost the participation of
minorities in local decision-making and enhance
their relations with the local government.
Main objectives of the project:

Citizens' assessment on the work of the
Korçë Municipality;
-
Self-assessment of the Korçë municipal
administration;
-
Highlight the level of participation of
minority representatives in local
decision-making;
-
Highlight opportunities for improving the
work of the municipal administration in
promoting and respecting minority rights in
the Korçë Municipality.
Activities
to be carried out in the context of the project:

Meeting with the Korçë Municipal Council;
-
Decision on involvement of the municipal
administration in the project's
implementation;
-
Filling out questionnaires by citizens,
civil society representatives,
intellectuals, minority members, and the
municipal administration;
-
Drafting of report based on the collection
and processing of questionnaire data;
-
Round table discussion with regional and
Korçë Municipality actors to discuss the
report.
Expected project results:
-
Broad engagement of Korçë Municipality
citizens in the implementation of the
project;
-
Expression of political will in implementing
the project through the decision of the
Municipal Council;
-
Increased representation of minorities in
local decision-making;
-
Improvement of the Municipality's work to
promote minority rights in the Korçë
Municipality.
The
project is taking place in the context of a
regional initiative and its implementation
