PRESS RELEASE
In the framework of the improvement of the human’s rights situation in pre-detentions sites and prisons and in order to give an effective operational support to the prison administration in the reforms taken for the improvement of the prisons’s system, Albania Helsinki Committee organizes two and half days training on 7
–9 June 2004 in the premises of Rrogozhina Prison.
The main purpose of this training is to contribute to good management of the prisons in the framework of the reforms of the prisons’s system in Albania.
The training will conducted by three foreign experts: Mr. Per Colliander, Swedish independent expert, Mr. Jan van den Brand General Regional Director in Netherlands and Mr. Theo Westerout General Regional Director in Netherlands.
In this training are invited Mr. Fatmir Xhafa, Minister of Justice, Mr. Perparim Sanxhaku, Deputy Minister of Justice, Mr. Ramadan Hasanaj, General Director of Prisons’s, high representatives of the Ministry of Justice and General Directorate of Prisons, well as representatives from senior level of the two pilot prisons,
Rrogozhina and Peqini Prison as well lawyers of the other prisons in Albania.
Evaluating the role of media in raising awareness and education of the public opinion in regard with the reforms that Albanian prisons system is experiencing, Albania Helsinki Committee invites all representatives of written and electronic media to participate in this training.
