PRELIMINARY REPORT ON THE PROGRESS OF THE GENERAL ELECTIONS PROCESS OF JULY 3, 2005 IN ALBANIA

 

 

 

The final report “The respect of the human rights in prisons”[1]

 

This main goal of this report is to inform the public and the employees of judicial and penitentiary system regarding to the results of the monitoring missions done by AHC in large number of pre-detention sites and prisons in Albania.

The issues that are observed in these missions has been the evaluation of the respect of HR of arrested and convicted persons, the implementation of the law, identification of cases of rights violation and other issues resulting in the violation of these rights.

The methodology employed in these monitoring missions included the use of questionnaires prepared by AHC, meeting with pre-trial detainees and prisoners, reviewing the documentation and looking the legitimacy of these findings, etc.

This publication will be on interest of all decision makers’ bodies and executive institutions, civil society and all the public that are interested in this field.
